Today I read a really interesting Facebook post by Dean Holland, Dean is a full time internet marketer living in the UK, and in his post he talks about how he’d, in his words “allowed myself to start thinking ‘small” he then goes on to say “and recently I’ve noticed I’m not thinking BIG. I know what direction my business is going, I know exactly what we need to do to get there but the goals and outcomes for all of this have been some what restricted on what I know is possible”
So my interpretation of what Deans saying there is that although he is achieving and getting results, he is “resting on his laurels” a little and not pushing himself as he should be…………….I know that I have been guilty of that in the past, as I think we all have. But the thing is we have to keep pushing ourselves and striving for better and better all the time. The one thing we mustn’t do though is to beat our selves up if we don’t achieve, just dust yourself down and carry on.
When I was in a network marketing company a few years ago we were always told to work in 90 day blocks, so set your sights on what you want to achieve and go for it within the 90 days, if you don’t achieve what you want within the 90 days, then start again with another 90 day block. I suppose you could even go down to 60 or even 30 day blocks, but 90 days seems to make more sense………………. Goal setting is a really important part of any business, but more so with Internet Marketing because setting goals gives you an end result to aim for.
Further on in the post a book was mentioned which sounded really interesting called The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwartz so I checked it out in Amazon and it looks really good, I think I’ll put it on my Christmas list 🙂 Here is a short resume of the book:
“Dr Schwartz presents a carefully designed program for getting the most out of your job, your marriage and family life, and your community. He proves that you do not need to be an intellectual or have innate talent to attain great success and satisfaction – but you do need to learn and understand the habit of thinking and behaving in ways that will get you there. This book gives you those secrets!”
Once I have read the book I will post a review of it and hopefully it will help me on my quest for I.M. success……………. Anyway enough of my ramblings I can now see light at the end of the tunnel and am getting quite excited about completing my personal challenge 🙂
See you again tomorrow 🙂
