Imagine the scene………. you go online and decide to check your main blog………… www.terry-weatherill.com/blog the page loads then…… Error 404 page cannot be found!!!  Oh thats not good you think, try again, same message error 404 page cannot be found. Oh dear, I’ll try another one of my blogs www.health-facts.co.uk, same message.  Now you start to get worried………….
Have I not paid my hosting account? you think, no thats paid till next year.
I know I’ll check my web hosting, log on, C Panel-Fantastico-Wordpress…… current instalations…. NONE!!!!!! What!!!!!!! I should have 5 or 6 WordPress sites, this isn’t looking good at all. You can now feel the sweat slowly but surely starting to run down your forehead, all my blogs are gone,all that work, all that effort, all gone!!!!!!!!!

Then I remembered noticing a message as I logged into my Web Hosting account ” Can’t Find Your Web Sites? Click Here…. So I clicked, and up came a message ” We are migrating all our data to a new data centre”, or words to that effect, in laymans terms they’re moving everything to new servers, including MY beloved blogs. Then panic really sets in what if they’ve lost everything, stupidly I havn’t made any backups :-{
So what do I do now? I know I’ll submit a support ticket telling them about my plight, so thats what I did, within ten minutes I had a reply back to my email address………..”Hi terry, I’ll get those fixed for you and update you when complete”.
Within another fifteen minutes another message………… “Hi Terry, If you try now you’ll be able to access your sites”.

So I tentativly re-typed in my blog address…………………… and lo and behold my beloved site popped up in all its glory   So in less than 30 minutes I’d gone from total shock and horror to total elation.
Now thats what I call customer service, thats not the first I’ve had a problem solved so quickly either, I’ve had 2 or 3 other minor problems, usually as a result of me not doing something right or missing something out!!!!!!

So I would like to say a very public Thank You and Well Done to all the staff at D9 Hosting for your excellent customer service and promp replies to all my cries for help, your service is second to none

I received a message the other day telling me that my domain name Terry-Weatherill.com was due for renewal, that means that my blog is nearly 1 year old, on the 16th July to be exact. So what has happened in the past 12 months:

• Firstly I now have 2 blogs online, this one and Health Facts.co.uk
• I now have the grand total of 114 subscribers in 2 different niches from Giveaway Events.
• I have learnt a hell of a lot about blogging and Internet Marketing in general, a lot of it by trial and error.
• I have realised that nothing comes without hard work, especially web traffic.
• I have recently started Dave Nicholsons Coaching Program

So what hasn’t happened in the past 12 months that maybe should have done:

• I havn’t got as many subscribers as I would have liked.
• I havn’t yet got my own product online.
• I havn’t got my Ferrari yet
• I havn’t made any money online yet.

By this point you may be thinking a couple of things, what a whinging so and so I am and why on earth should anybody bother listening to me about anything. Well the answer is I’M STILL HERE and I’m not going away. I WILL get my list of subscribers, I WILL get my own product online, I WILL make money online and I WILL have my Ferarri. There I’ve said it now for all to see, no going back, I WILL be a success online and if anyone wants to follow me on this journey then hop onboard otherwise I wish you all the best for the future,

Who is David Walker? you ask-and I will tell

David Walker is a 29 year old Full-Time Internet Marketer from South Wales, he has been making his living on the internet for a number of years now, and is making a very good living and has a very nice lifestyle, to see more of his lifestyle go to http://www.davidwalker.tv/about/.

As I said before David has had a number of years experience in Internet Marketing and has been mentored by Alex Jeffreys, Lee McIntyre and Rich Schefren, this means that anything David teaches is certainly gonna be good.

I am certainly going to be following David and attending the rest of his webinars, and I can see David following in the footsteps of his mentors and becoming a Mentor to the new breed of Internet Marketers.  Well what can I say, I have been a student of Alex Jeffries coaching program since July this year, and here’s how much I have earned so far- ZILCH, and here’s how many subscribers I have on my list- NONE!!!

As you can see I havn’t been very successful in the past 4 months, why’s this you may ask, and to be honest at first I asked myself the self same question, I have been visiting the members forum on a regular basis and keep seeing all these student commenting on how well they’ve done. Students saying they have XX amount of subscribers on their list, students saying that they have earned XX amount of money, so what am I doing wrong???? 

In October I listened to Module #7 of Alex Jeffries Coaching Program-” The Road Block ” In this module Alex talked about taking stock of what you’d done, had we

• Kept a Personal journal?
• Kept our personal blog updated regular?
• Been driving traffic to our blogs and Profit pulling Platforms?
• Stayed motivated?

I had to say no to nearly all those questions    So was this the reason that I hadn’t had any sucess with my I.M. business, I thought long and hard about that question and after re-listening to most of the modules on the Marketing With Alex Coaching Program, my answer was a resounding YES!!!!!! So the answer is??????????

Go back to the beginning and start a fresh, thats the beauty of this business it is very forgiving, if you feel that your not getting very far just start at the beginning again   the most important thing to remember is Planning, plan plan plan and more planning, ” If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” I’m not sure who said that quote but it’s very true. I’ve just started reading “The Guru’s Dream” one of Alex jeffreys E Books, and in there he talks about planning first and foremost.

I’ve also started visiting Lee McKintyre’s Blog, after hearing about him on the Marketing With Alex private forum, I would like to have attended his I.M.Workshop, this guy is another inspiration.

So what’s my plan of action now, well

• I’ve started a jounal
• I’ve started planning my business
• I’ve set some goals, long term, mid term and short term
• Re Listened to the modules of the Marketing With Alex coaching Program
• I’ve got my Profit Pulling Platform online

Now all I have to do is start driving traffic to my blog and Profit pulling Platform, but I think I’ll leave that till another post, I did say a few posts ago that this would be a warts and all blog, so to anyone who feels I’m moaning, then I’m sorry. What I’m looking for now is, my first list member, make my first dollar, my first 100th list member, my first 100 dollars/ month, my first 1000th list members, my first 1000 dollars/ month.  Will I do it??? you betcha I will, just watch this space

One of the powerful tools in online “email” marketing is to build an opt-in mailing list. An opt-in mailing list is a database of peoples’ names and email addresses that have subscribed to an email list via a web form giving that list owner permission to send them periodic emails on the topic they are interested in. The best gift of this powerful tool is the possibility of being able to talk to people who are particularly interested in your product, service or organization.This gaining popularity of building opt-in mailing list is known as Permission Email Marketing.

There are do’s and don’ts in starting your opt-in mailing list. Here are some of the most important tips worth mentioning:

 DO’S

1. Put a subscription form prominently on your website. You can create your own subscription form using an Autoresponder service like Aweber or Get Response

2. Inform people that they can subscribe to your email list on the signature of your normal work emails. This will enable it to link straight through the form on your website.

3. Ask people permission if they do want to be subscribed on your mailing list. As much as possible avoid being suspected for SPAM.

4. Open options for subscription especially during your interactions with them. Always be ready with your subscription cards if you run in on events.

5. Be clear on how people can benefit from subscribing and how often will you contact them. Make them know exactly what they will be receiving.

6. If you can, contact new subscriber as soon as you can. Welcome them with notes and tell them what to expect.

 DON’T

 1. Add everyone who has ever emailed you to your list. Always ask permission first.

2. Purchase lists that you are not 100% sure that are opt-in. Always have an evidence to prove the legitimacy of the opt-ins.

3. Abuse people’s trust. This is a sure way to ruin your brand and you. Soon enough they will ignore your messages.

 Building your opt-in mailing list is cheaper than in sending direct mails. Printing, envelopes and paper used as material further add up to the cost. Here are some ways to effectively start your opt-in mailing list:

1. Free Newsletter. One of the most effective ways to build an opt-in list is to offer your online visitors freebies of value such as newsletter which will contain information that they can relate to such as tips, tools, recipes, travel itineraries and others. 

2. Make it Easy to Subscribe. Provide easy steps for subscription so that subscribers may find it easy to do so and would not be discourage. For more subscribers, tell them the exact benefits they can get out of the subscription.

3. Quality Content. Be sure that what is written inside the newsletter, freebies and information found in your website are all of value to increase visitors dropping by your website.

4. Forums. Discussion boards and forums are all over the net. Try to actively participate in these boards especially those in the line of your interest or your business. Try to build your reputation with credibility.

5. Write articles. This makes you an instant expert in your chosen field of interest. You just have to play on it and use it well in your business goal.

6. Co-registration. A very effective way to build a monster list in a very short time.

7. Write an e-book. An excellent freebie for those who visited and subscribe in your mailing list. The e-book does not have to be expensively made or elaborate but it can be a compilation or a collection of best articles, business tips and resources.

In building opt-in mailing lists always keep in mind to offer something of value to your prospects. Remember opt-in lists are the foundations of most profitable internet business so do not miss chances for improvement and developing new strategies. Having an opt-in list is not easy, it is hard work but with some relieving advantages too. But to build an opt-in mail list has to be focused and effective in truly capturing the desired target. Take a look at these 10 Quick Easy Steps to Building A Highly Targeted and Responsive Opt-in List.

1. Choose your target market or niche. Remember you are not the only one competing in internet marketing; you have to be sure who your internet marketing is.

2. Be sure that you can reach your target audience online.

3. Do not waste on time on a non-profit investment or spending. Always monitor your spending.

4. Forums and discussion boards are available for maximum use. Find your target market problems.

5. Identify what is keeping your customers from getting what they want and help them get it.

6. Try offering your viewers solving some of their problems.

7. Set up a simple direct response mini-site.

8. Get an auto-responder account, I use Aweber personally, it is important for you to acquire and set this thing up because this is where your visitors will come.

9. Bait your potential customers through giveaways like: e-books, special reports, mini courses and coupons, etc.

Opt-in building is a tedious work but with amazing results. The process of building it takes time and effort but persists. Always treat your “find” as a goldmine so that you will offer them the best deals in the market, those with great quality and value. Here is my latest post to my blog, I havn’t added a post for a couple of  weeks simply because I have been really busy at work, no excuse I know but I can’t think of any other

So what have I been up to regarding my internet business, well I’m afraid to say I’ve been very slack recently, I think I’m at that ” is this all worthwhile” stage that we all go through now and again. If anyone reading this post deosn’t like my honesty then click away now!!! this is gonna be a warts and all blog charting my online career. I have revisited a lot of Alexs’ recorded webinars and listened to them again and its funny how each time you listen to them you hear something new Another thing I have been doing is reading “The Four Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferriss, now I dont know if its just me but I found the first part of the book hard to get into. I  think what he’s getting at is if you want to join the ” New Rich” and have a lot of leisure time is to cut down on all the wasted tasks and outsource. Now where have I heard that before- Part of Alexs’ teachings of course. I am at the moment just reading the second part of the book which talks more about ” Income Autopilot Ideas” which I suppose is very much like what I’m trying to do along with all the other students on Alexs’ coaching program. One thing that Tim does mention in his book is to have lots mini retirements throughout your life rather than one big one at the end, now I like that idea

Another thing I’ve been up to is trying to make my blog look more professional, this is something else that can be outsourced if you can find someone to do it for you. I like to try these things for myself though, so i’ve been looking at adding an opt in form to my blog etc. I found some good videos on you tube which were helpful and have also discovered “widgets” now these are amazing little things for anyone who doesn’t know what widgets are they’re small pieces of code that you can add to your blog side bar to do all sorts of weird and wonderful things there are about 950 widgets, go to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ to see for yourself. I think thats enough now for this post, I am gonna try and post a lot more often in future and try to give some interesting content out.

Hi Terry here, this is my latest blog entry after my well earned and event filled holiday in Majorca. The holiday was very nice and very relaxing unfortunately while were there a bomb went off in our resort, apparently planted by some terrorist organisation. The problem was at the time we were in Palma, about twenty minutes away, but when we tried to get back to our resort all the roads were blocked!!! In the end we had to walk along some little side roads and on to the beach to be able to get to our hotel. Needless to say we were very pleased to get back and find our hotel in one piece still, unfortunately two policemen were killed in the blast, which was very sad for all concerned and the hotel had a two minute silence the next day in their memory.

Anyway less of my holiday escapades and back to my reasons for writing this blog, the main reason is because I would like to get my name and presence out on the internet and brand myself. I am also looking to build myself an internet business that I hope will expand over the years, as I have mentioned before I am at the moment signed up to Alex Jeffreys ” Marketing With You” coaching program. This program goes right from basics to- well we don’t know yet- but if the past few weeks are anything to go by then ” the skys the limit Up to now we have covered things like: Planning and taking action, Setting up our Profit Pulling Platform-we’ve been given our own ready made sqeeze page and product!!!! Blogging, Traffic Generation and much much more. All I can say is this course is definately the real deal, none of this take the money and run crap that I’ve experinced before on the internet.

Just to finish here are some other reasons that I signed up for Alex’s course:

I’ve been trying to earn some money online for about 18 months with zilch results.
I’m looking to get out of the rat race and have some quality time with my family.
I’d like to build my own business, I tried offline a while ago and failed
I’d like to be able to afford a Porche or a Ferrari, No don’t laugh.
I feel I need some guidance and support.
I’d like to leave a legacy for my children.
I like Alex’s enthusiasm and passion for what he does.
I’m looking to make some new friends and maybe build some long term friendships and partnerships.
I’m in information overload at the minute waiting for the next magic pill to come along rather than being focused.
I need some help aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, I feel better now

As you can see there are a number of reasons why I’d like to have a succesful internet business, and I’m sure with Alex’s help and guidance all of the above will be achieved

Well here I am again, I had hoped to write another post earlier than this but we’ve been so busy over the weekend at work that I’ve just come home and crashed out-I know that’s no excuse but I’m sticking to it The problem is everybody and his friend think they have swine flu at the minute, mainly thanks to the media, so everyone is either calling an ambulance or going to A&E. The government advice for people with “suspected swine flu” is: Stay at home, contact NHS Direct or your GP but DONT go to your local A&E Department. So what did they do this weekend? ALL pile in to my local A&E coughing and spluttering all over!!!! :-{

Anyway less of my rants about work, one thing I did manage to do was look at some of the videos provided to members of Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program, that accompany the Profit Pulling Platform we’ve been given, these videos have been done by a guy called Garry Parkes, all I can say is this guy is amazing. For a newbie like myself he has taken all the mystery and mystique out of web design, I used to think ” how on earth do I get people to sign up to my list and how do I put a payment button on my site” Well not anymore in a couple of videos Garry calmed all my confusion and fears. The videos are simple clear and straight to the point, he uses no fancy jargon and explains everything, all I can say Garry if you ever read this post thanks mate you are Brill

The whole Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program is just amazing, I have learned so much in three weeks and I would recommend anyone if you get a chance to sign up for it to do it!! I am gonna go away now and hopefully set up my new website, with the help of Garry of course
